On Thursday, we again worked two shifts, morning and evening.  In the morning we set up for the Winter Wonderland party for the children and then cleaned out a barn and moved props.  The GKTW staff was extremely grateful as it was something that they had wanted done for quite some time.

In the evening, the team participated in the Winter Wonderland parade and made the children smile.  It is much better to show what they did so there are lots of photos below!

Friday is our last day and the team will serve at the Gingerbread House and serve breakfast to the children and the families before heading home to Fort Wayne.  It's been a very good trip!

Wednesday was supposed to be our "day off."  GKTW tells groups to take one day off when they come and serve for a week.  However, they asked us on Tuesday if we would be willing to at least work the morning on Wednesday.  So, we worked behind the scenes putting together promotional kits for individuals and sponsors.  It was tedious work but with 16 of us, we made it fun and helped the staff quite a bit.  We completed more than 300 kits as well as other projects.  The rest of the day was free and some went to parks, or relaxed by the pool or visited friends.  It was a very nice.

On Tuesday, our day started early as we drove to Daytona Beach (about an 1 and 45 minutes) to help serve food at the Pantry and our Holly Hill UB Church.  It is quite an experience to pack boxes of food, carry them to cars, and minister to the people. The Holly Hill Church does this every Tuesday and Thursday, so our job was to give them a "day off" by working in their place.

We served a one-day record of 282 families!  Afterwards, we went for lunch and made a short stop at the world-famous Daytona Beach before driving home.

We changed  clothes and headed over to Give Kids the World, where most of us work at the Pool Party for the children and worked until about 9:30 p.m.

It was a long day, but a good one. Wednesday is supposed to be our day off, but GKTW asked if we could work the mornings and so we will work until noon and then everyone has a half-day off.
